So what do we do during the summer heat?

Alright, alright, I know that is rather warm, so if you looking to stay in the area during those times, but worried that it is just going to be a bit too hot for you? Thats all good, we have plenty of things to do here to keep yourself cool, yet also active.

Lake Pend Orielle

This is by far the best way to stay cool in the hot weather of July! There are plenty of well known swim spots like the Sandpoint City Beach, as well as lesser known, or just harder to access spots like Green Bay.

Swimming isn’t the only thing you can do though, as boating is another great past time here in the area. There are many different spots to put in your boat throughout the area, however Memorial Field, City Beach, and even the Dover Bay Marina are all great options to put that boat in the water, and maybe jump out into the lake once or twice.

Local Restaurants

You can’t go wrong with the food scene here in Sandpoint! After a great dinner in an AC controlled restaurant like Trinity at City Beach, or the Hydra Steakhouse, you can walk on over and get some of the best ice cream you have ever had at Panhandle Cone and Coffee (they also serve Evan’s Brothers Coffee).

Shopping Downtown

If you just want to get out of the heat, and indoors, we also have a really great shopping area in town! Sure its not huge like you will see in bigger cities, but it is full of locals offering you some great items with a smile.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a great time this summer, July and August are going to be your best bet for that hot weather! However if you are looking for something a bit cooler, and want to get out hiking, September and October are some great months, with perfect weather for longer term outdoor fun.
