Every year the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club puts on a Thanksgiving Fishing Derby for all of our local visitors and residents here in the Sandpoint area. They invite all to come out and make memories while learning the art of fishing!
People of all ages are welcome to attend the event and compete for over $10,000 worth of prizes for both the adults, and for the youth. To enter into the derby it will be an entrance fee of $40 for adults, and $20 for youth. The Derby will take place on Lake Pend Oreille during the dates of November 19th – 23rd, and November 25th – 27th, and there will be daily prizes!

Different Divisions of the competition consist of:
- Adult Rainbow Division
- Adult Mackinaw
- Youth A Division Ages 9 through 13
- Youth B Division Ages 0 through 8
- Junior Division Ages 14 through 17
- Mackinaw of the Day
